Bayern Munich’s front line was in top form again on Tuesday night against Paris Saint-Germain in a goal-filled Champions League semi-final. Harry Kane opened the scoring from the penalty spot after just 17 minutes, Michael Olise made it 2-0 right before halftime, and Luis Diaz added the fourth goal for Bayern in the 68th minute. With these strikes, the trio became the first attacking unit in Europe this season to reach the 100-goal mark.
This season, Kane leads the trio with 54 goals in 46 matches across all competitions, followed by Diaz with 26 goals in 46 matches, and Olise completes the century with 20 goals in 47 games. What makes this achievement even more impressive is that no other attacking trio in Europe comes close to matching their output.
According to statistics from Europe’s top leagues, the second-best attacking trio this season is Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappé, Vinicius Jr., and Federico Valverde, who have combined for 69 goals. They are followed closely by Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal, Raphinha, and Ferran Torres with 62 goals, while Manchester City’s Erling Haaland, Phil Foden, and Rayan Cherki rank fourth with 55 goals in all competitions.
The data shows that most trios in the top ten, aside from the Spanish giants, have scored roughly half the number of goals that Kane and his teammates have managed this season. In many respects, Bayern’s attack stands in a class of its own, and based on these season statistics, the trio should be well capable of securing a favorable result in the return leg for the German side.
