AC Milan has informed forward Christopher Nkunku that he is available for transfer following a disappointing first season at the club. The 28-year-old has struggled to make a significant impact since his move from Chelsea last summer, recording just six goals and three assists in 32 appearances.
According to *La Gazzetta dello Sport*, the Italian side held a meeting with Nkunku’s agent, Pini Zahavi, during which they communicated their intention to sell the Frenchman. Milan is seeking approximately €40 million for the player, aiming to avoid a significant loss on the €37 million plus bonuses they invested in his signing.
Nkunku’s underwhelming output has prompted the club to look for a replacement. Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski, 37, who will become a free agent this summer, has emerged as Milan’s primary target to fill the void left by Nkunku’s expected departure. The Serie A giants are eager to reinforce their attack and see the experienced Polish international as an ideal candidate.
