In the CBA playoffs quarterfinals on May 9, the Shenzhen team secured a hard-fought 95-91 road victory over Zhejiang, sweeping the series 2-0 to advance to the semifinals. After the game, Shenzhen head coach Zheng Yonggang shared his thoughts in a media interview.
“This win was definitely not easy. The competition in this series has been extremely intense,” Zheng said. “Although we won at home in the last game, we came here fully prepared for a tough battle. Zhejiang played very tenaciously today, especially in the fourth quarter when they kept cutting into our lead. That’s something we need to review and learn from.”
“We managed to get the win and secure a spot in the top four, which is something we haven’t done in three years. We’ll go back, adjust the team well, and make thorough preparations for the semifinals.”
In the semifinals, Shenzhen will face the winner of the series between Guangsha and Shanxi, which is currently tied 1-1.
